    The Associate Account Director is responsible for developing in-depth knowledge and strong relationships with clients, as well as the client’s partners and agencies.  An Associate Account Director will look after client needs through providing strategic direction, leading major assignments and marshaling agency resources.   They will participate in the annual planning process and be accountable for the overall financial health of their assigned clients.


    This person will extend from complete oversight of assigned clients, to staff management and development.  They will set the working style for the group and be responsible for the cultivation of client relationships at all levels.  They will report to the Durables & Services Group Account Director.

    What You'll Do

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    • Provide thought leadership, impacting/contributing to client’s way of doing business on an ongoing basis

    • Act as a change agent/impact player from both an internal and external perspective – contributing to both client and agency performance

    • Expand assigned business through identification of emerging opportunities and securing of incremental revenue and/or acquisition of new business

    • Manage client budgets, ensuring profitability for agency and contributing to overall department bonus attainment

    • Demonstrate financial acumen across standard business accounting/finance documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and sales reports

    • Develop annual business plan, setting short- and long-term strategic course for growth of assigned business

    • Build strong relationships with both client and retailer while working closely with cross-functional teams including consumer marketing, trade development, operations, merchandising, and category managers, directors and buyers

    • Effectively manage and develop staff members, inspiring them to consistently strive to take the business to the next level and never stand for the status quo

    • Some travel is required

    Our Ideal Candidate

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related experience and background

    • Minimum of 8 years experience in Marketing, Advertising, Communication or related field, preferably agency experience in retailer promotions

    • Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences

    • A wealth of industry knowledge including current trends distribution network experience and business philosophies

    • Experience with media driven accounts

    • Motivational leadership, inspiring team to deliver top performance every day against assigned business

    • Strategic thinking in the development of distribution channel  programs and management of day to day business

    • Sound decision making skills based in agency, client, and industry knowledge

    • Passion about business and dissatisfaction with status quo – always thinking of ways to improve/grow assigned client/business

    • Strong listening skills and attention to detail

    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
