    Summary

    The Research/Strategy Specialist provides strategic leadership for insight development and facilitates connectivity and collaboration with client and agency resources. This position is responsible for custom quantitative and qualitative research to provide the basis for driving business decisions that are mutually beneficial for the brand, consumer and shopper. The Research/Strategy Specialist will work closely with both the strategy and research team to ensure client needs are met.

     

    What You'll Do

    • With the Research Director, consult with internal account teams and external clients on research needs
      • Evaluate knowledge gaps
      • Identify/define target audience

    · Collaborate directly with clients on appropriate research methodology, survey design/content, and other research elements to gain alignment

    • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s category and business objectives in order to customize both research and strategy client needs

    ·  Write questionnaires, discussion and retail audit guides, and other research instruments

    • Conduct basic and intermediate data analysis using SPSS/Excel
    • Serve as a partner on projects by developing customized reporting deliverables and making strategic recommendations where appropriate
    • Work with Senior Planners to conduct and analyze research related to programs and ad hoc requests; combine key case studies into general support documentation
    • Help identify the direction or strategic opportunity by leveraging mechanisms and key planning tools and provide to account team
      • Identify channel/category themes and trends; create materials to be distributed to the account team
      • Locate and communicate retailer preferences
      • Help locate key insights and frame POVs with support from strategy lead
    • Stay informed about new/emerging research and strategy trends and technologies by attending conferences, reading industry specific articles, etc.

    Our Ideal Candidate

    • Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, marketing or the equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3-5 yrs. of agency experience, preferably within both research and strategy disciplines
    • Experience with a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
    • Proficient in Excel and SPSS
    • Applied experience with database tools and systems such as Simmons, MRI, Kantar, or equivalent
    • Experience with survey programming/hosting software such as Survey Gizmo, Qualtrics, etc.
    • Proficient with research design, survey and guide design, project management, data analysis, report writing, and presentation/discussion
    • Ability to analyze results, interpret data, draw sound conclusions, and develop insightful and actionable recommendations
    • Basic understanding of multiple marketing disciplines and how they can best work together to support client goals
    • Ability to build relationships across teams, departments, vendors and clients
    • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
    • Strong presentation skills; can present material in a logical and strategic manner tailored to the audience and adapt as needed on-the-fly
    • Ability to effectively manage detailed timelines and deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously
