POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Supervisor leads the planning and execution of shopper marketing regional field support. He/she is an important contributor to the overall strategic direction of the account. The Account Supervisor works independently to effectively coordinate the activities of the members of the field teams to ensure they deliver the best product, and together they contribute significantly to the Client’s business. With experience grounded in Digital/Shopper activation strategies, this Account Supervisor will be well poised to lead and develop internal and client teams toward successful programs.

 

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Manage activity with internal cross-functional teamDemonstrate a thorough understanding of client’s business and internal processes and act as an important source of key intelligence on business directions and agency role
  • Help client evaluate the effectiveness of developed marketing programs and determine next steps
  • Interact with relevant agency departments to clearly outline current and projected workload on a periodic basis for resource planning
  • Work with senior account team for development of the proposal/deck presentations and lead and guide other team members to deliver thought leadership and executional excellence
  • Keep senior account management team fully informed of account activity, challenges and opportunities ongoing
  • Manage the creative processWork together with cross-functional account team for team briefing
  • Take the lead for evaluation of copy, layout/artwork, media plans and productions materials and make suggested revisions in keeping with agreed upon strategies
  • Take the lead for the development of concepts and supporting tactics, looping in senior account team members for directional feedback and alignment


CLIENT SERVICE

  • Function as liaison to clients on behalf of the agency with regard to tactical, service related, and agency policy issues and work to address needs with account leadership
  • Lead meetings (internal and client) and deliver presentations
  • Align with Account Director regularly to ensure all are updated and moving in tandem effectively and efficiently


FINANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Track financial forecasting, report and flag any potential income variance to senior management
  • Ensure project workload is fully estimated, signed and billable
  • Work with senior account team for internal reporting needs to both evaluate projects internally and to share with clients, working between Project Management, CFC, Finance and broader account team to effectively track and communicate financial state of affairs


STRATEGIC THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

  • Work with senior account team to define key strategic issues and their impact on the client/agency objectives
  • Provide constructive evaluation of strategic documents and creative briefs offering appropriate direction ongoing
  • Demonstrate understanding of multiple marketing disciplines and how they can best work together to support client goals


LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

  • Nurture the career development of junior staff by mentoring and providing ongoing informal and formal performance feedback
  • Identify and suggest Training/Development needs for direct reports


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strategic development within advertising agency, client management or consumer packaged goods/brand management (6-8+ years)
  • Shopper and Customer/Trade marketing experience within WMT/Sam’s and/or other retailers (6+ years)
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead client and utilize knowledge to meet client objectives
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Proven ability to self motivate and successfully juggle multiple projects simultaneously
