Summary

Focuses on the visual side of the creative being developed for various client requests. Handles design, type, photography, layout, color, shape, and the overall visual esthetics under the guidance of senior creative team. Ensures agency success by owning the creation of designs that are consistent with client branding guidelines, client goals, and company procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Attend and participate in all project kick-off meetings with senior Creative team members, Account, Strategy, and Project Management
  • Take notes based on creative brief discussed
  • Ask clarifying questions related to the design and asks questions to understand the assignment
  • Fully understands the assignment and role in the project
  • Provide input on concepting the ideas based on knowledge of current trends, pop culture, and current and past design themes
  • Bring ideas to meetings on how the design could activate
  • Build upon other participants ideas and constructively voice opinion on ideas discussed
  • Partner with a Copywriter or senior Creative team to design and create agreed upon
  • concept based on the creative brainstorm
  • Creates designs based on the brand(s),the brand guidelines, the target audience, and retailers
  • Design logos and sketch out ideas or layouts
  • Identify the correct font and imagery that works best with the idea
  • Understand usage rights of purchased items, such as stock photography and fonts
  • Present work to the Senior Creative team members
  • Work with senior Creative team members to revise design concepts
  • Consult with Creative team to ensure the design is in line with the creative brief
  • Interpret feedback received and utilize to adjust design
  • Prepare and package files correctly for transfer to the next phase (i.e. transitioning a file to the Studio)

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Design or relevant field

  • 1–3 years of experience in Art Direction

  • Knowledge of Adobe Create Suite and any other relevant applications

  • Knowledge of current trends, pop culture, current and past design themes

  • Ability to communicate clearly, thoroughly and succinctly both verbally and in written

    form; Can clearly articulate an idea and the reason(s) behind a specific creative direction

  • Accepts constructive feedback and is able to utilize feedback in work

  • Comprehensive understanding of specified brand(s), brand guidelines, and retailers as

    they relate to the projects they are working on

  • Understanding of where and how people interact with all kinds of media including: at

    home, on the go, while shopping, Mobile, Broadcast, Print, Event, New and inventive platforms

    Stay up-to-date and relevant on current industry trends

  • Actively and effectively managing timelines and deliverables of multiple projects

    simultaneously, some with short turn around times
