Manages client service, program development and execution activities, and financial performance. Oversees and troubleshoots the implementation and delivery of programs and partners with account director to lead strategic development of account. Ensures agency success by building and maintaining strong client relationships through delivery of expert counsel, understanding of the client’s business, flawless execution, and achievement of client’s objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Develop shopper marketing programs and manage both customer/field and national program development with the account and strategic planning teams
    • Own the development of the proposal/deck presentations; gain input and approval from account director/lead
    • Partner with the client, strategic planning, and account director/lead in the development of marketing and/or communication briefs
    • Manage the creative process and delivery of relevant materials including briefing the creative team and evaluating concepts, creative executions, media plans and production materials to ensure they are on strategy
    • Assist client in evaluating the effectiveness of developed marketing programs and determine next steps
    • Interact with relevant agency departments to clearly outline current and projected workload on a periodic basis for resource planning
    • Providing well-grounded recommendations and guidance to clients based on their objectives and business needs 
    • Keep account director/lead fully informed of account activity, challenges and opportunities ongoing
  • Function as primary day-to-day liaison to clients, Interagency network and field leads on program tactics, project implementation, client service, strategic thought leadership, and opportunities and challenges in any of these areas
  • Lead internal and client meetings, deliver presentations and prepares needed materials, including agendas, presentation decks and follow up communications
  • Partner with the account director/lead to keep agency team informed of client requests and changes; anticipate potential problems; proactively develop solutions and allocate resources
  • Track and revise budgets as needed based on client requests; alert client of financial implications and ensure that approvals to proceed are received by junior staff members
  • Provide constructive evaluation of strategic documents and creative briefs offering appropriate direction ongoing
  • Research the client’s category and competitive landscape, author POVs on program strategies and tactics, and in partnership with account director/lead, define key strategic issues and opportunities and the impact on client objectives, and share information with clients and internal teams
  • Lead development of direct reports through mentorship, coaching and ongoing performance feedback and identification of learning opportunities
  • Enter time reports once a week, at a minimum, and expense reports within 10 days of incurred expense
  • Approve time for team once a week, at a minimum, and approve expenses within 2 days of receipt

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required
  • 6-8 years of advertising, marketing, agency account management, brand management and/or related experience required
  • At least 1.5 - 2 years of experience in Shopper marketing discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of client category, business, and objectives, and a clear understanding of key strategic issues impacting client’s business
  • Ability to communicate clearly, thoroughly, succinctly and logically both verbally and in written form
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and process orientation, demonstrated through actions such as effectively proofing work to ensure accuracy, and actively and effectively managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively analyze results, interpret data, draw sound conclusions, and develop insightful and actionable recommendations
  • Proactive approach, demonstrated by successfully anticipating potential problems/obstacles, communicating concerns, and developing and executing on solutions
  • Ability to lead and influence clients and manage expectations effectively by providing sound counsel, identifying and implementing recommendations that advance/improve client’s business, educating the client on when/where the agency can be most impactful, and proactively communicating project progress
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships
