POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all client projects to which they have been assigned. The person in this role works with junior client team members as well as ancillary clients and client vendors. In this position, the Account Executive begins to manage agency teams across departments and functions throughout project development.

 

Core job Functions:

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Implement processes and take initiative to improve upon process given team and client knowledge
  • Develop and oversee historical assets library and server organization
  • Partner with the strategic planning team to develop creative briefs based on client/agency input and knowledge
  • Oversee approvals of and assist with evaluation of copy, layout/artwork, media plans and production materials and make suggested revisions prior to concepts being submitted to client
  • Collaborate with the account team, Project Management team and internal resources on the development of project schedules
  • Provide effective and timely communications to the agency staff, clients, outside vendors and invested resources through conference reports, status, emails, phone calls and personal communication where possible
  • Keep account leads informed of account activity, challenges and opportunities at all times

 

CLIENT SERVICE

  • Respond to client requests in collaboration with account team while continuing to develop client services prowess
  • Play larger role in meetings, both with internal and client facing, and deliver presentations in both settings

 

Finance Management

  • Take leadership role within account team to partner with Project Management team to ensure project workload is fully estimated, signed and billable
  • Partner with Project Management to track financial forecasting, report and flag any potential income variance to senior management
  • Track budgets and coordinate financial reporting with CFC, imparting knowledge from day-to-day interactions with account team to make sure all are fully updated and working toward aligned visions and goals
  • Anticipate delays and help team estimate overages, proactively addressing solutions with clients before issues arise

 

Strategic Thought Leadership

  • Work with the Account team to research the competitive landscape and author POV documents which relay the projects overall business strategy
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client category and business objectives and how key strategic issues impact the client as well as the agency
  • Assist team to develop proposals and other strategic documents, taking leadership with deck development
  • Learn how to analyze results, draw conclusions and make strategic recommendations

 

Leadership and Management

  • Provide oversight to junior team, growing their skills and determining when appropriate for them to take leadership with projects or client and internal discussions
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior account staff

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, marketing or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 yrs. of agency experience, preferably with shopper marketing experience on a consumer packaged goods client
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to build relationships internally and with the client teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with high level of organizational skills
  • Ability to be proactive with an intuitive professional nature
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maturity and judgment to represent the agency and client in a polished, intelligent manner
  • Enthusiasm for the promotions/advertising/shopper/marketing at the regional field level
