Responsible for the successful management and reporting of financial information across multiple clients. The Senior Client Finance Analyst (SCFA) partners with account, project management, and finance teams to develop and maintain effective project financial status and reporting. Ensures agency success by maintaining adherence to contract terms and conditions, WPP policies, SOX and statutory compliance for clients.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the day to day financial reporting needs for all clients including but not exclusive to: billing status reports, hours summary reports, retainer/SOW tracking, month end client reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Provide guidance to the Client Finance Analyst and Client Finance Associates financial reporting analysis
  • Present financial analysis to Finance Director and management
  • Manage the status of accounts and balances including Accounts Receivable, Work in Progress (WIP), Deferred and Accrual; and identifying inconsistencies
  • Issue and track invoices across multiple clients to minimize unbilled, unpaid and WIP position as well as assure collectability as needed
  • Conduct monthly status meetings with client teams to ensure all clients remain informed on their outstanding debts and deadlines and secure payment for outstanding debts
  • Review and verify month end close with Finance Director as it relates to revenue, billings, WIP, Deferred and Accruals as well as overall financial health
  • Maintain oversight of open/close client job numbers, estimates and PO’s across the agency
  • Responsible for the adherence of billing documentation and approval processes by the Account, Project Management, and Finance team.
  • Oversee client OOP including travel and intercompany partners
  • Identify issues in processes and trends within the industry; recommend change and process improvements
  • Adhere to agency process and financial policies; identify ways to improve processes
  • Provide regular updates to Client Finance Manager or Finance Director
  • Enter time reports once a week, at a minimum, and expense reports within 10 days of incurred expense
  • Handle other duties as assigned by supervisor

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other related field
  • 3+ years experience working in a financial reporting role
  • Advanced understanding of financial management principles and ensures decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.
    • Thoroughly understands financial reports such as: statements of cash flow, income statements and balance sheets.
    • Knowledgeable of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and how they are applied in finance.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks and projects accurately within deadlines and constraints
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by;
    • Responding to account and client requests in a timely manner.
    • Relating complex terms and reports to client and partners of all levels.
    • Leading internal status meetings, providing clear and concise information to the client
    • Ensuring account team has clear understanding of current financial performance for specified clients.
  • Advanced Excel skills including the ability to: complete VLOOKUPS, Pivot tables, and to use charts/graphs to convey financial reporting.
  • Highly proficient in agency financial system demonstrated by the ability to learn new systems quickly and basic navigation.
  • Proactive approach, demonstrated through actions such as:
    • Provide regular and thorough project updates to team members
    • Anticipate potential problems or obstacles, communicating concerns and solutions
