Geometry Global has an open call for curious, assertive Retail Strategists for our freelance bench. Yes, bench. This is one call back you’ll want to receive and a bench you’ll want to be on!


We are looking for retail marketing / shopper marketing experts who can apply their experience to help our clients activate their categories successfully within specific channels and retailers. If you’ve worked within a retailer’s walls or have been in a sales, trade or shopper marketing role, this is the opportunity for you.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with internal clients (e.g. account and creative teams) to provide retail knowledge and strategic guidance for specific brand / category programs
  • Ensure the strategies for national and retailer-specific shopper marketing programs deliver against client goals
  • Partner with senior account and brand planners on the development of the proposal/deck presentations
  • Work with senior account team to define key strategic issues and their impact on the client/agency objectives and support preparation of key elements for briefing sessions
    • Utilize the appropriate planning tools to identify information to help the client or account teams best address planning requests
    • Research facts sourced from client-owned, third party/syndicated sources
    • Distill facts into key relevant background information to inform the creative brief
    • Support briefing the creative team with channel / retailer specific intelligence
    • Define project opportunity and retailer-specific shopper insight with most important behavioral points of influence
    • Support planning and account team to draft/refine the pivotal brief for creative kick-off
    • Collaborate across departments to help teams during project kick-offs and ongoing work
    • Partner with senior planning team to interpret retail intelligence and its application to support client deliverables
    • Along with senior planning team, assist in the evaluation of the alignment of national programs, tactics, and media plans with the agreed-upon strategies and suggest alternative options

Our Ideal Candidate


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, a behavioral science field or retail-oriented marketing such as category / trade management, sales or shopper marketing
  • Strategic Planning experience within the disciplines of shopper, brand, or sales strategy within an agency setting
  • Shopper and Customer/Trade marketing experience within the retail landscape
  • Applied experience with database tools and systems such as Simmons, MRI, Kantar, or equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of key priorities, retailer-specific guidelines, and strategic initiatives of top retailers
  • Ability to analyze results, interpret data, draw sound conclusions, and develop insightful and actionable recommendations
  • Can present material in a logical and strategic manner tailored to the audience
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital and social media, and its execution, from a retail lens
  • Demonstrated expertise with key strategies of top 10-20 retailers in US, demonstrated by:
    • Expertise with key retailer’s strategies/priorities and ability to apply this expertise within key client’s business
    • Representing the voice of the retailer and its shoppers within the agency to articulate shopper communication priorities
