Summary

Administers human resources policies and programs under the guidance of the HR Director, specifically focusing on new employee onboarding, legal compliance, corporate policies, employee relations, performance management and training. 

What You'll Do

  • Conduct employee relations. Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including but not limited to harassment claims, discrimination claims and policy violations
  • Process pre-employment reference checks and drug screens
  • Organize and conduct new hire onboarding, first day orientation and facilitating agency overview sessions
  • Develop HR communications and tools to keep staff informed of pertinent programs, policies and deadlines
  • Educate employees on the performance management process and field questions; track compliance with process
  • Conduct exit interviews, record feedback and ensure compliance of exit procedures
  • Develop positive employee relations by responding to all employee questions and concerns in a timely and thorough manner
  • Partner with L&D to coordinate local training programs and workshops
  • Ensure all HR files, policies and processes are compliant with federal laws, state laws and agency policies, and records are properly maintained
  • Input information into the HRIS system as needed
  • Generate and compile local and regional HR reports as needed
  • Complete employment verifications; draft and provide employment and benefit verification letters to current employees as needed
  • Maintain manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential
  • Assist the HR Manager and Director of Human Resources with other HR duties and projects, including employee retention efforts

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent HR work experience
  • 3+ year progressive track record in human resources
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and judgment coupled with high degree of integrity and trust
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: organization development, training, employee relations, recruitment or performance management
  • Solid understanding of HR standards, employment laws and policies
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications
    (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint)
